National Rail was forced to cancel all trains between Reading and Newbury this morning (6/11) following an emergency incident.
This caused huge delays between the stations for rail travellers.
According to authorities, this was due to an emergency incident at Thatcham.
Great Western Railway have arranged alternative services including replacement taxis and coaches.
Passengers have been told to wait outside the station.
Although the Reading to Basingstoke route isn’t affected, the incident will affect passengers travelling between London Paddington and Newbury / Bedwyn / Frome / Bristol Temple Meads / Paignton / Plymouth, and also between Reading and Newbury / Bedwyn.
The lines are currently reopen however trains may still be cancelled or delayed for up to 30 minutes.
The Chronicle has contacted the British Transport Police for more information.
