A choir will present a donation in memory of a late member.
Thames Valley Chorus, a Woodley-based choir, will donate £1,500 to The Brain Tumour Charity on Tuesday, November 19.
This comes after the group held a concert in Henley to mark its 50th anniversary and raise funds for the charity.
The donation will be presented at a rehearsal at Bulmershe School, and will be gratefully received by a charity representative.
The funds will be presented in memory of a choir member who passed away last year due to a brain tumour.
The choir is currently nearing the end of a six-week 'Come and Sing' course, aimed at encouraging more men to take up harmony singing, with about eight men having stayed the course.
Thames Valley Chorus, which sings in four-part harmony, has been facing recruitment challenges since 2021.
To tackle this, the choir is planning to run another 'Come and Sing' session on January 22, 2025, and throughout January and February.
The choir hopes to attract younger singers and is exploring ways to engage the younger generation with harmony singing.
The health benefits of group singing for men, both physically and mentally, are also emphasised by the choir.
The Thames Valley Chorus continues its efforts to promote the joys of harmony singing to all generations.
