A brand-new budget supermarket is opening today and locals are really excited to start shopping.
Morrisons Daily which is situated at 86-88 Headley Road, Woodley, RG5 4JE (the old Just Tiles site) will open its doors for the first time today, Thursday, November 7.
The manager of the new supermarket Tej Singh revealed that he will be welcoming locals to the store at 1 pm, and the first 100 customers will be getting some exciting treats!
Speaking with The Chronicle, Mr Singh said that he and the team are beyond excited to welcome the people of Woodley to the new store.
"To start with, I am very proud to serve Woodley," he said. "This is such exciting news for the neighborhood and we are really looking forward to seeing everyone later.
"We’re thrilled to announce the grand opening of the new Morrisons Daily and hope to see lots of people join us for some very special offers."
The brand-new supermarket is offering goodie bags full of Morrison's items for the first 100 customers.
There will also be a free Pret coffee hour, plus a mega deal on launch day according to Mr Singh.
He continued "Join us for fantastic opening day deals, and don’t miss out on the chance to grab some freebies. See you there!
This comes as a good deal of new businesses have been cropping up around the area, with a new farm shop, barbers, and cafe announcing their imminent arrival.
Speaking to the owner of Berkshire Village Farm Shop which is along the same line of stores, Andy De Beer said that the new Morrisons will have lots of fresh aspects.
He said that the Morrisons will be 'different' from the usual stores and Mr Singh plans to offer customers a range of new items.
"His Morrisons is due to have a beer cave, a bakery, and really good wines," Mr De Beer said.
"The setup is going to be very modern and different from other local stores and supermarkets."
Mr Singh went on to say that he has already received a great amount of positive feedback from the local community, with many allegedly telling him that an accessible supermarket was fervently needed.
"A lot of elderly people in the area have said that they are really pleased that we have decided to open," he said.
"They find it difficult to get to the other supermarkets which are a lot further away, so really do welcome a local one for convenience."
