Bray has been named the happiest place to live in Berkshire, according to recent research.
The culinary village was the highest rated location in the county on a list of the 70 happiest places by online store Furniturebox.
The survey ranked locations based on the beauty of their surroundings and green spaces, the provision of good state schools and affordable housing, as well as access to quality pubs, restaurants, independent shops and cultural attractions.
A Furniturebox spokesperson said: "Bray is the happiest place to live in Berkshire.
"All 70 places on the list would have been worthy winners and show why the UK is such a wonderful place to live, loved by visitors from all over the world.
"Most of the locations in the top 70 are not the most affluent in their localities.
"The survey shows that the happiest places are not defined by wealth but by the quality of life within them."
Bray, which also came tenth nationally, is home to two of the UK's finest restaurants.
It has Heston Blumenthal's The Fat Duck and his one-star gastropub The Hind’s Head, plus Alain Roux’s The Waterside Inn.
But it is more than its gastronomic constellation.
Bray has pretty chocolate box cottages, traditional pubs, and half-timbered shops set against the backdrop of the River Thames.
The village is also home to Platt Juniors and Holy Trinity Church of England School, both of which have been rated outstanding by Ofsted.
In second place in the happiest places to live in Berkshire list was Aldworth, followed by Cookham, Pangbourne, and Newbury.
Furniturebox polled 5,000 people, with panels in each city and county including Berkshire, to find the happiest places to live.
The national list was won by Stratford-upon-Avon.
