A cocktail bar in Reading town centre could stay open until 3am on weekends if a bid for extended hours is given the go-ahead.

The London Cocktail Club opened in November 2021 in Gun Street, one of the busiest nightspots in Reading.

The club is known for its extensive cocktail menu, happy hour deals and bottomless brunches.

It is currently open until 2am on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and 12.30am the rest of the week.

Now the operators of the club want to keep the club open from 11am to 2am on Sundays, and Monday to Thursday during the week, and from 11am to 3am on Friday and Saturday nights.

The London Cocktail Club has submitted a licensing application to Reading Borough Council for these opening times.

The licensable activities include alcohol sales, late night refreshment such as food and non-alcoholic drinks, and playing recorded music.

A statutory consultation into the application has begun. You can comment by emailing licensing@reading.gov.uk. The deadline for responses ends on Thursday, November 21.

When it opened, the Gun Street branch was only its second venue outside London, with the brand now having locations in Bristol, Exeter and Cardiff.

London Street Club took over the ground floor of 5 Gun Street from the Smash bar, kitchen and ping pong venue, which closed in 2021.
