A restaurant in Caversham has been handed a new hygiene rating, and locals are not happy about it.
Momo House, which is a Nepalese restaurant situated on Farnham Drive, has been handed a zero out of five hygiene score from the Food Standards Agency.
The food stop serves a variety of curries, onion bhajis, kormas, masalas, and naans.
Since news of their new hygiene rating broke on social media, locals have been airing their distress at how the restaurant is allowed to stay open.
Mark Smith, who lives in Caversham, wrote on Facebook "How are places that score a 0 in food hygiene allowed to stay open? momo house had an inspection in September and scored a 0. Avoid like the plague."
Dozens flocked to the comment section of the post to share their views on the poor rating, many expressing hope for the restaurant's revival.
One person said "I don’t see a problem with this post. My very little understanding is that to get a zero rating you basically have to not care.
"It’s not about slating a business it’s about allowing people to make an informed decision. There are many businesses in Caversham who put time and money in to get a good rating I’d rather go to them.
"Hopefully Momo will get things sorted."
A further person wrote "I'm really sorry to read this as I really like Momo House. I've never been ill after eating there or getting a take away. I hope they get issues sorted out soon."
