Two men have been jailed after being caught with phones containing drug-dealing messages.

Liam Lunnon, 30, of Heroes Walk, Reading, was jailed for three years and four months, and Peter Hiles, 53, of Welford Road, Woodley, was jailed for two years and three months at Reading Crown Court on October 29.

Lunnon pleaded guilty to one count each of concern in the supply of cocaine and heroin, and acquiring criminal property.

Hiles also pleaded guilty to one count each of concern in the supply of cocaine and heroin.

A forfeiture and destruction order was made for drugs, cash, and phones found during the investigation.

Officers executed a section 8 warrant at Lunnon's home on September 26, recovering a mobile phone and a large sum of cash in a grip seal bag.

Hiles was seen cycling near Heroes Walk at around 8.30am, with three phones in his possession.

The phones contained mass marketing messages advertising class A drugs.

Lunnon and Hiles were both arrested on September 26 and charged the following day.

Investigating officer Ben Wilson, based at Reading police station, said: "We will never tolerate drug dealing in our communities, which often harm the most vulnerable people.

"We will continue to proactively target and prosecute offenders, like Lunnon and Hiles, and we will be visible and covert in our efforts to disrupt and pursue offenders who are involved in the supply of drugs.

"The information from the public around the drug supply offences in Reading plays an important role in developing intelligence into a proactive investigation.
