A Newbury care home marked Remembrance Day with a community celebration.
Residents and staff at Care UK’s Winchcombe Place, on Maple Crescent, invited the public to join a special parade and wreath-laying ceremony to honour those who lost their lives in wars.
On the day, residents who served in the armed forces or had family members who did, paraded down the street in front of the home.
The event included a brief service, concluding with a moving rendition of The Last Post played by a trumpeter.
The home, adorned with over 700 poppies, welcomed a vintage 1940s jeep to further commemorate the event.
Guests were also treated to wartime tales recounted by World War Two veterans from the home, who happily answered questions about their experiences.
Ninety-five-year-old resident Kenneth Bellamy said: "It was a great day seeing so many people come together to remember.
"I served many years ago, so days like these are so important for me to remember. We must not ever forget."
Clare Cullen, Home Manager at Winchcombe Place, commented on the emotional significance of the day.
She said: "It was incredibly moving to see the residents laying their wreaths to remember our fallen heroes.
"We all wore our poppies with pride, to show our respect and keep their memory alive.
