A protester disrupted the two-minute silence for Armistice Day in Reading town Centre this morning (11/11).
A short ceremony took place at the Forbury War Memorial where Reading’s Mayor, Councillor Glenn Dennis, led a silence at 11 am to salute the bravery and courage of military personnel.
A video recorded by the BBC, shows a woman loudly addressing the crowd after a sign was wrestled from her hands.
Members of the public that attended the event appeared distressed as the lone protestor disrupted the silence.
A spokesperson for Reading Borough Council, which organised the event, said it was "saddened that the individual considered this an appropriate time and location to protest".
The Armistice ceremony and two-minute sience follows the events within the town on Remembrance Sunday (10/11).
Poppy wreaths were laid at the foot of the Forbury War Memorial at the ceremony on Remembrance Sunday.
