The installation of measures to deter suspected street drinkers in Reading town centre has begun.
Alarm has previously been raised that suspected street drinkers are congregating on a ledge outside the Metro Bank at the Broad Street Mall.
Now the area has been sealed off so that 'deterrence' can be installed to disperse those suspected of causing a public nuisance.
A photo taken on Saturday, November 9 shows metal railing and orange chapter barriers in place outside the bank.
The issue of anti-social behaviour was raised this summer, with Metro Bank staff saying the new management team were aware of it and trying to devise a solution.

Meanwhile, Steven Connolly, the centre manager of Broad Street Mall confirmed that the ledge is the responsibility of the bank, and that the bank had worked with the mall and town centre partners for a resolution to the situation.
At the time, Mr Connolly said: "Shortly seating deterrence will be installed in the area that will aid in dispersing the groups that have congregated there."
Metro Bank has been contacted for a response.
According to Police.UK data, nine crimes were reported in St Mary's Butts this September, made up of seven violent and sexual offences, one report of criminal damage and arson, and one public order offence.
