The following cases were heard at Reading Magistrates’ Courts.

SAMUEL WARD, 33, Mead Close, Caversham, indicated guilty to possession of a Class B drug, namely cannabis, on August 27 last year in London. He was fined £80 and a forfeiture and destruction order was made for the drugs. There were court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £32.

MOSA ABID, 27, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to three counts of racially/religiously aggravated harassment at Broadmoor Psychiatric Hospital in Bracknell on December 28 last year, as well as one count of using threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour to cause harassment/alarm or distress. He was fined £1,000 and ordered to pay £500 in compensation. There was a victim surcharge of £400.

AFTAB YOUSAF, 25, of Pursers Court, Slough, pleaded guilty to one count of assaulting an emergency worker, namely a police officer, in Slough on January 9 this year. He was fined £162 and ordered to pay £50 in compensation. There were court costs of £85.

LOUISE URWIN, 35, of Zinzan Street, Reading, pleaded guilty to three counts of theft from a shop/ On April 26 this year she stole a kitchenaid stand mixer to the value of £599 from Lakeland in Broad Street, Reading and on June 26 this year from Rose Kiln Lane, Reading she stole two leather jackets to the value of £1,249.98 from Sportsbike Shop. On August 3, she stole Apple products to the value of £485 from the Apple store. She was ordered to pay £1,050 in compensation and was given a community order to complete up to 25 days of rehabilitation activity days. There were no orders for costs.

LUCY WALSH, 44, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to one count of theft on September 21 this year after stealing a mobile phone and an Oyster pass to the value of £100 in Slough. She also pleaded guilty to one count of failing to surrender to court/police bail on October 10 this year. She was fined £80 and was ordered to pay £100 in compensation. There were court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £32.

JAMES THOMAS, 31, of Thirlmere Avenue, Tilehurst, pleaded guilty to drink driving in Reading on October 5 this year with 66 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. He was disqualified from driving for 18 months, reduced by 18 weeks for a course, and fined £428. There were court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £175.
