Police are telling residents around Coley to be vigilant after a spate of attempted thefts from cars and other vehicles. 

A Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) in the area has issued the warning, calling for residents to keep their locks and have all valuables removed when possible. 

In a warning posted online, the PCSO said: "There's been a spate of attempted thefts from motor vehicles in the Coley area.

"Please be vigilant and ensure you are keeping your cars locked when unattended, removing all valuable goods, even from the glove compartment and centre console.

"Please don't hesitate to report any suspicious behaviour to us via 101 or online."
