Singer Will Young and television host Rob Rinder are coming to Newbury to help raise money for a soup kitchen that supports homeless and vulnerable people.
Newbury Soup Kitchen in Hambridge Lane has said that 'the last remaining tickets' are available for the fundraising event in the Vineyard Hotel, in Stockcross, on Friday, November 22.
The soup kitchen, which was founded in 2017, was recently crowned Charity of the Year at the Greenham Trust Charity Awards 2024.
Newbury Soup Kitchen provides a freshly cooked and prepared hot three-course meal for homeless and vulnerable people every Thursday, Wednesday and Saturday.
Volunteers provide more than 150 meals each week.
Will Young, who went to school in Wokingham and is a patron of the Newbury Soup Kitchen, is set to perform at a black-tie dinner in aid of the charity next Friday.
The event begins at 7 pm and ends at 1am, with a delicious 3-course sit-down dinner with accompanying wines.
A spokesperson from the Vineyard said: "A fabulous black-tie dinner, entertainment and auction with all proceeds going to Newbury Soup Kitchen. Rob (Judge) Rinder MBE will be auctioneer and compère for the evening and we will welcome magician Leigh Edgecombe, The Professional Icebreaker along with Silhouette Sarah."
Tickets are £200 per person or tables of 10 are available at £2,000.
Founder and CEO Meryl Praill told the BBC that the fundraiser was vital this year as the charity needs to find a new home by March 2025.
The service has been given notice to leave its operational unit - so needs a new home for its commercial kitchen, food storage, offices and two vehicles.
