Four concerning items have been recovered from across different Reading parks during sweeps carried out by Thames Valley Police.
Groups PCSO’s from West and North Reading Teams were seen patrolling and searching the parks and recreation grounds on Amersham Road, Oxford Road Recreation, Dee Road and Kensington Park.
This is part of a national week of action across England and Wales highlighting the danger of knife crime and increasing awareness.
Members of the force were also seen out on Monday to mark to start of Operation Spectre.
This has become an important issue across Thames Valey considering the increase in knife crime and injuries.
Punishments for knife related crimes are becoming swift and more severe than ever.
