A Reading has announced its closure with ‘immediate effect’ after many years in the community.

TNT Gym – also known as ‘Reading’s Best Old School Gym’ was created over 15 years ago at its premises in Bridgewater Close.

On Tuesday, November 12, the owners announced on their Instagram that they would be closing their doors ‘permenently’.

The post said: “The decision has been made to close the gym permanently with immediate effect. This was a very tough decision but was unfortunately the only option.

“Sorry if this causes inconvenience but there is nothing else to be done.”

Gym goers expressed their disappointment at the news saying that it is ‘so sad’ to see the gym closing after so many years.

One person said: “This is such a sad day! You guys really have helped me in more ways than you can imagine, the first gym I have ever felt comfortable in, a second home.”

One Reading mum commented: “Thankyou for being the most unjudgemental gym full of inclusive members from all walks of life, and allowing me to rehab postpartum by bringing my baby along. Feels so weird to think I won’t train there again.”

Following the closure announcement, the gym announced that the Atrium Health Club on Scours Lane are currently running a discount to TNT members.
