Police descended on a Reading neighbourhood this week after a suspected firearms incident was reported.
According to eye witnesses, a man was tackled to the ground after reportedly pulling a gun.
The incident happened on Wednesday, November 12, on Eldon Square at around 9.30pm.
A neighbour described seeing "an older man" pinning a younger man to the ground while a woman guarded "what looked like a handgun" in the road.
He said: "The police showed in numbers, arrested the guy and started taking statements.
"The man that was arrested was refusing to give a name or cooperate was possible drunk based on his literally howling at the police."
The neighbour said it appeared "the younger guy pulled a gun and the brave older guy tackled him while the woman called for help."
Images taken from the scene show police surrounding a person on the street on Eldon Square.
Around 10 police officers and multiple cars were spotted at the scene.
Thames Valley Police has been contacted for more information.
