Residents across Reading remain without water for a second day as repairs get underway to fix a ‘large water pipe’.
Low to no water was reported by customers in the RG4 and RG9 areas yesterday (18/11) around 6am.
Since then Thames Water said that their engineers ‘have remained on site overnight to ensure the leak is fixed’.
A new statement has been released alerting customers to their progress.
A spokesperson from Thames Water said: “The team have shut the water off to carry out repairs on a burst pipe in Reades Lane, RG4. We have now re-routed parts of our water network to bring supplies back to your taps.
“When your water returns you may notice at first the pressure at your tap is lower than you're used to, but this will improve over time as further water is re-routed around the area.
“This is a complexed repair on a large water pipe, which has meant the fix is taking longer than normal to complete. Our teams have remained on site overnight to ensure the leak is fixed as quickly as possible. We're sorry for the delays.”
The bottle station will reopen from 8am on Tuesday, November 19 at Tesco, 359 Reading Road, Henley-on-Thames, RG9 4HA.
