Two individuals were arrested in town last week for theft offences and beggars were warned by officers.

Thames Valley Police Reading wrote about the arrests online as well as summarising other incidents that occurred in town throughout the week.

Officers also attended an award ceremony in recognition for their work in tackling Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) and policed the Remembrance Sunday procession from Reading Minster Church to Forbury Gardens.

As well as the arrests, officers also issued four Community Protection Notices and one warning to various beggars in the town centre. 

They also reported a beggar to court for breaching their Community Protection Notice.

The rest of their list included; arresting and remanding a prolific shoplifter who was sentenced to 30 weeks, safeguarded an elderly man with dementia, seized an E-Bike, conducted searches on people suspected for possessing drugs and knives, arrested a male for domestic violence offences, conducted over 15 licencing checks in the Whitley area, completed continual checks at the Partial Closure Orders to combat anti social behaviour in the local community and educated cyclists around Broad Street on the exclusion zone.

A number of officers also participated in a knife crime operation, resulting in two arrests for drug-related offences. 

Residents praised Thames Valley Police in the comments of their post for a job 'well done'.
