Santa Claus is set to ditch his sleigh for a Harley Davidson motorbike.
He will make a grand entrance at Winnersh Garden Centre on Saturday, November 30, to open the store's grotto.
The unconventional arrival will mark the grand opening of the garden centre’s new Santa’s Grotto, nestled within the plant area, in a brand new location with photo opportunities.
Families will have the opportunity to meet Santa, share their Christmas wishes, and write a special tag to hang on the Christmas tree.#
To add to the festive cheer, the garden centre will offer a selection of Christmas nibbles and drinks.
All proceeds from the Santa’s Grotto experience will be donated to the Reading Maiden Erlegh Rotary Club, supporting their work in the community.
Greg Hutler, Winnersh centre manager, said: "We’re thrilled to welcome Santa to Winnersh Garden Centre and to offer this magical experience to our customers.
"It’s a fantastic way to kick off the festive season and create lasting family memories.
"We’re grateful to the Reading Maiden Erlegh Rotary Club for their invaluable support in making this event possible."
Councillor Juliet Anderson, Woodley mayor, will also attend the event and officially open the grotto.
Santa’s Grotto will be open at the weekend (November 30/December 1, December 7/8, and December 14/15) from 11 am to 4 pm.
Visitors are encouraged to enjoy the festive spirit with Winnersh Garden Centre’s Christmas displays.
The centre offers a range of trees, decorations, and gifts in-store.
British Garden Centres (BGC) is the UK’s largest family-owned garden centre group with 65 centres around the country.
The group is owned and led by the Stubbs family, who also own and operate Woodthorpe Leisure Park in Lincolnshire.
BGC was launched in 1987 with the opening of Woodthorpe Garden Centre by brothers Charles and Robert Stubbs.
Since 2018, it has expanded rapidly with the acquisition of 50 garden centres, allowing it to grow from its heartland to the business it is now, with 65 garden centres spread from Carmarthen to Ramsgate, Wimborne to East Durham.
The group has a team of 2,700 colleagues working across the garden centres, restaurants, growing nurseries, distribution centres, Woodthorpe Leisure Park, and Woody’s Restaurant & Bar.
