A man in his fifties has been bitten during an assault outside a Boots store in Newbury, sparking a police appeal for witnesses. 

The incident occurred outside the Boots store in Northbrook Street around midday on Wednesday, November 13. 

A 'disturbance' was reported between a man in his fifties and another man and a woman, according to Thames Valley Police. 

During the incident the man in his fifties was bitten. The man did not require hospital treatment.

A 29-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of assault.

They have been released on police bail, according to Thames Valley Police.

Investigating officer PC Christopher Tayler, said: “We are investigating this assault and appealing for the public’s help.

“Two people have been arrested and bailed.

“We are asking any witnesses to this assault in Northbrook Street at around Midday to please come forward.
