Storm Bert is expecting to hit Reading this weekend.

Named by Ireland's Met Éireann, the second named storm of the season will bring very strong winds, heavy rain and, for a time, snow and freezing rain.

A Met Office amber warning for snow and ice along with numerous yellow warnings for rain and wind have been issued for Saturday and Sunday.

Temperatures will also rise dramatically as much milder air spreads in.

According to the MET Office, there is expected to be 2-4mm of rainfall in Reading at 6pm on Saturday (November 23) and increasing to 4-8mm at midnight.

In Newbury there will 8-8mm at 6pm moving to 1-2mm at midnight. There will be 4-8mm again at 6am on Sunday (November 24).

Reading will see the worst of the weather at 6pm on Sunday with the storm expected to bring 16-32mm of rainfall in East Reading as the storm moves down from Slough.

It should be cleared by 6am on Monday (November 25).
