A popular Indian takeaway in Caversham has just won a highly prestigious award much to the delight of all the staff.
Caversham Tandoori, which is situated on Prospect Street in central Caversham, has just won the Asian Curry Award for the Best Takeaway in Berkshire.
The owner of the eatery Mohammed Siraj said that he and the team are super proud of the achievement, and are delighted to have been recognised for the high quality of their food.
"The evening was really good and we all had a wonderful time at the event," Mr Siraj said.
"It was packed with very important people as well which was really nice to see, like MPs and a few celebrities."

He went on to say that one thousand people attended the event and that he and his staff feel very proud to have gone up against so many top restaurants.
Food stops from all over the county that specialise in Asian cuisine came forward to try their luck at winning an award, so it was with great honour that Caversham Tandoori scooped 'Best Takeaway in Berkshire.'
"When they announced our names and we knew that we won, we were all delighted," Mr Siraj continued.
"It was so thrilling! It was just amazing, we had no idea that we would win so it was just fantastic to be able to take home that award.
"Our team has worked so hard to be there, we are so proud of the food we serve and this kind of recognition means a lot to an independent business like ourselves."

Mr Siraj has owned the Caversham Tandoori for the last three and half years and has seen the small food stop go from strength to strength.
He has an extensive background in the hospitality industry and has worked in various establishments for over 30 years.
"I have worked in places like this for a very long time," he said.
"I have a lot of experience, and I have passed that on to working at the Caversham Tandoori."
Mr Siraj said that they have lots of customers who regularly come in and really appreciate the food they serve.
"They all love the food itself," he continued. "The nation's favourite dish the chicken tikka masala they all obviously really like and we serve a lot of portions of that every day to a lot of our customers."
