Traffic in Theale has come to a standstill after an ‘obstruction’ was reported on the M4/Bath Road junction.
Heavy traffic was first reported in Theale at 3:34pm on Bath Road and Hoad Way towards Theale High Street.
This is said to be causing delays of around 20 minutes on A4 Bath Road Eastbound between The Green and Hoad Way.
On the M4 Westbound junction, the road has been partially blocked due to an obstruction in the road.
A spokesperson from AA Live said: “Partially blocked and queueing traffic due to obstruction on the road on M4 Westbound between J11 A33 Basingstoke Road (Reading) and J12 A4 Bath Road (Theale).”
The delays are thought to be partially due to flooding that is taking place across Berkshire following Storm Bert.
A severe flood alert was issued by the Environmental Agency that would affect properties in the Theale, Calcot and Reading Town Centre areas.
This is due to rising water levels on the River Kennet.
