A town council has announced it will be supporting the Kindness Tree campaign to bring 'holiday joy to older residents'.
Earley Town Council is supporting the initiative, organized on behalf of the Wokingham Link Visiting Scheme, which helps people donate gifts to elderly residents in need.
The Kindness Tree is now set up at the Council's Helpshop, located at the Council Offices in Radstock Lane.

Community members are invited to visit and choose a gift tag from the tree. Each tag corresponds to a gift or donation request to support elderly individuals during the Christmas season.
Participants can either donate funds or purchase a gift as specified on their chosen tag.
Once you have your gift, simply return it—unwrapped—before the deadline of December 16.
The Wokingham Link Visiting Scheme will ensure the presents are delivered to those who need them most in time for Christmas.

The Helpshop is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 4.30pm, making it easy for everyone to get involved.
Earley Town Council encourages residents to spread kindness and help brighten the holidays for the older community members who may otherwise spend the season in solitude.
Writing about the initiative on Facebook, the town council said: "The Kindness Tree is a wonderful way to make a meaningful contribution this Christmas."
