A 20-year-old entrepreneur and barber has taken a dilapidated shop unit and transformed it into a brand-new barbers in Woodley.

Located on Headley Road, Mass Barbers opened on Sunday, November 24 with much excitement from the local community.

Liam Masson, 20, started his journey four months ago when deciding to take on the new venture.

Alongside two other barbers, Bobby Fuller and Taylor Head, Liam said that he is excited to open his shop to serve the local community.

Liam posted a TikTok video, documenting the construction of the new barbers and the journey they took to get there.

He said:   “Time for another venture. We’re now opening a barber shop. Since we started, its been about 3 or 4 months. It was far from anything. The process was long, it was just all over the place.”

A variety of tradesmen, including an electrician, plumber, decorator and partitioner helped in the development which took around four months to complete.

He added: “I think it looks amazing. We’ve put in a staff room, put in a toilet. We also had Vince come in and came in with the shop sign and we’re very happy with it.”

A member of the community who visited Mass Barber’s for a trim on the opening day praised Liam for his entrepreneurial spirit.

He said: “As you can imagine, he's a very bright young man with a lot of ambition. Achieving big things early in life is something we both have in common so we spoke about hard work, being realistic and making time for family and friends.

“I'm very proud to represent young people like Liam and I hope many of you will support him in his journey.”

Mass Barbers is open Tuesday to Sunday and is located next to the Morrisons in Woodley.
