A person has been rescued from the River Thames following a boat fire near Reading Bridge.
Several fire crews and police teams responded to reports of a small boat on fire near Caversham Lock at 12pm on Tuesday, November 26.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Wokingham, Slough, and Whitley Wood were dispatched to tackle the blaze.
Police cordoned off parts of the River Thames footpath while firefighters were on the scene, which also saw a fire service rescue boat stationed on Reading Bridge.
Emergency services were on the scene for a total of one hour and 50 minutes.
A spokesperson from Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "At 12:02pm on Tuesday, 26 November, we received reports of an incident on the River Thames near Reading Bridge in Caversham.
"Crews from Wokingham Road, Wokingham, Slough and Whitley Wood fire stations were sent to the scene alongside an offroad vehicle from Mortimer Fire Station, the Water Rescue Unit from Caversham Road Fire Station and two Officers.
"Upon arrival, crews discovered a boat on fire. Firefighters rescued one person from the water and extinguished the fire.
"Crews then secured the boat before handing the scene over to the Environment Agency."
The Environment Agency has been contacted for further details.
