Renowned ballet performances are getting ready to show at the Reading Hexagon.

The renowned Varna International Ballet is set to return to the UK for an enchanting new season in 2025, promising a magical experience with special effects and live orchestral accompaniment.

The company, celebrated for its award-winning soloists and distinguished corps de ballet, will perform two of the most beloved classics: The Nutcracker and Swan Lake.

Both ballets will be performed by the Varna International Ballet, accompanied by the Varna International Ballet Orchestra, bringing Tchaikovsky’s timeless scores to life.

Commencing the season is the much-loved fantasy ballet, The Nutcracker, scheduled for February 2 at 2pm and 5.30pm.

Set on Christmas Eve, the ballet transports the audience to a fairy-tale world where toy dolls spring to life, and the Mouse-king and his mouse-army battle with the Nutcracker Prince.

The journey continues through the Land of Snow to an enchanted place where the magic really begins.

Swan Lake will be performed the following evening, February 3, at 7.30pm.

Regarded as the ultimate romantic ballet, it tells a compelling tale of tragic romance, from the grandeur of the Palace ballroom to the moon-lit lake where swans glide in perfect formation.

The dual role of Odette/Odile remains one of ballet’s most unmissable technical challenges.

Founded in 1947, the Varna International Ballet made a breathtaking debut tour in the UK, and their return is eagerly anticipated.

Under the artistic direction of Daniela Dimova and the musical direction of Peter Tuleshkov, the company has consistently delighted audiences with performances of the highest quality.

Ms Dimova said, "We are thrilled to be bringing our highly talented company of dancers and musicians back to the UK.

"We can’t wait to perform for British audiences again and to bring these magical ballets to life on stage."

The Varna International Ballet has been a beacon of artistic excellence for decades, both at home and abroad.
