An "outstanding" primary school has been praised for its "highly ambitious curriculum" and "exemplary" pupil behaviour.
Emmer Green Primary School, in Grove Road, was rated "outstanding" in every category in its latest Ofsted report after an inspection on October 22 and 23.
The report praised the "warm and respectful relationships" between staff and pupils, as well as the "high expectations" the school has for its students.
The report said: "This is a highly ambitious school where pupils benefit from an excellent quality of education.
"The school has very high expectations of pupils, who strive to meet them. Pupils achieve exceptionally well.
"They benefit hugely from the warm and respectful relationships that they have with staff.
"Pupils’ behaviour is exemplary. They are consistently thoughtful, kind and considerate towards each other and adults."
The inspection found that from the time pupils start in reception, they are taught to communicate effectively and share any problems they have.
During the visit, Ofsted inspectors found that pupils write down their worries in each class and discuss any concerns with a trusted adult.
The report continued: "Skilled staff help pupils think about the feelings behind their behaviour.
"This helps pupils to focus effectively on their learning.
"Pupils embrace roles of responsibility and make meaningful contributions to the school community, for example by becoming reading ambassadors or part of the litter picking team."
The Reading primary school was praised for the curriculum it offers, describing it as "highly ambitious" and ensuring that pupils learn in "well-ordered steps, which builds their understanding of each subject securely."
The report also applauded the school for its support of pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), saying that these pupils "flourish" at the school.
Ofsted inspector, Neil Pilsworth added: "Staff make sure that they identify the specific needs of each child.
"They then make suitable changes to help pupils with SEND achieve extremely well.
"These adaptations are highly effective in helping pupils to overcome barriers to learning."
The report highlighted the school's focus on reading, saying that it is "at the heart of the curriculum" and that the school "fosters a real love of reading and books in pupils."
Another area of praise was pupil attendance, which was said to be high, even in disadvantaged groups and SEND pupils.
The report said: "The school works positively with families to ensure pupils come to school regularly.
"As a result, all groups, including disadvantaged pupils and those with SEND, have high attendance."
The report also praised the school's leadership, saying that they "share an ambitious vision for the school" and ensure that staff benefit from "high-quality training."
