A man has been jailed after admitting to various offences, including two burglaries in Reading.
Carl Hunter, 42, of The Meadway, Tilehurst, pleaded guilty to burglary, shop theft, and fraud by false representation.
He was sentenced to two years and five months in prison at Reading Crown Court on Thursday, November 28.
The convictions relate to incidents in July 2024.
On July 27, Hunter broke into a shop on Bath Road, stealing items including scratch cards.
Two days later, he took an item without paying from a shop in Gatehampton Road, Goring.
The same day, he broke into a house on Reading Road, taking jewellery and a bank card.
He then attempted to use the stolen card at a shop on West Street, Reading.
Hunter was arrested on October 22 and charged the following day.
Detective Constable James Clancy said: "These are serious offences which have rightly resulted in a conviction and sentence for the offender.
"Hunter will now have plenty of time in prison to consider his unacceptable behaviour, which Thames Valley Police will never tolerate.
"We will continue to bring before the courts those who carry out offences such as this that have an impact on our communities."
