Former Wycombe Wanderers chief Rob Couhig has hit Reading Football Club with a compensation claim over the protracted takeover of the club.
Couhig has spoken in the Athletic and the Sun in recent weeks of his displeasure at dealing with Dai Yongge, revealing that his signature was all that was required to complete a long-awaited takeover of the football club.
However, all money Couhig had loaned to keep the club afloat has since been returned without a word from the hierarchy at the club, while the American refuses to give up the liens he holds over the Bearwood training facility.
Alluding to court action in recent interviews, it can now be seen on the Courts and Tribunals page that Redwood Holdings, the company set up to purchase the club, have taken out a claim on Renhe Sports Management.
According to the Sun, this claim is in the region of £10m, with £800,000 in costs and £9.5m in potential lost profits.
Speaking to the Sun, Couhig has added that he would 'much rather do the deal than win the damages.'
Yongge's lawyers, Walker Morris, had hit Renhe Sports Management with a winding-up petition which is still reportedly 'open.'
This comes the day after news broke that former chairman Roger Smee had a bid for the club rejected.
