The new owners of a narrowboat marina near Reading have announced some exciting additions to the marina in the coming months.
Frouds Bridge Marina is a narrowboat dock along the River Kennet between Woolhampton and Aldermaston Wharf.
The marina was established in 1997 to provide moorings for 100 boats, as convenient stop off in the river between Reading and Newbury.
Since then it has grown in size and popularity, now accommodating 160 narrowboats.
The marina has been operated for nearly five years by Wasing Estate under a lease agreement.
Now Wasing has announced that it has bought Frouds Bridge Marina.

It has also announced major additions to the marina for the coming months, which include a floating dry dock and paint tent, and new out of water facilities as well.
Matt Stroud, the marina manager said: “I am delighted to announce the official purchase of Frouds Bridge Marina by Wasing Estate.
“This is an extremely exciting time for us as we grow and improve our facilities.
“We are very pleased to continue welcoming both new faces and long-standing patrons within our boating community.”
A spokesperson for Wasing Estate clarified that no planning permission is needed for the additions to the Marina as they are ‘on water’ floating facilities.
Wasing is an estate management company that also runs the Wasing Estate in Aldermaston, country homes and commercial properties.
The marina it recently purchased is accessible by vehicle off the A4 in Frouds Lane.
