Hollie Care Home welcomed a furry friend this week: Nala the black lab. To what would have been a rainy day, cuddles with the canine lifted the spirits of the residents, staff as well as visiting families.
The home’s manager Yasemin Ucan said: “Nala’s presence was a true joy for everyone there, and we are massively grateful to Matt Seabourne for giving Nala to the home manager for the day.”
Mr Seabourne surprised the residents by bringing Nala to the home. Her visit was a testimony to the therapeutic power of animals – they really do create a sense of warmth and happiness in people of all generations. Everyone at Hollie’s were grateful for the chance to meet Nala.
Hollies Care Home is operated by Larchwood Care and is rated as Good in all areas and Outstanding for care by the Care Quality Commission. They have an extensive range of care homes in England, Scotland and South Wales.
The home’s manager added: “We are committed to promoting a happy environment at the home, and Nala's visit perfectly aligns with our vision.”
“It was especially great for the residents who formerly had pets of their own, it brought back fond memories which they were able to reminisce about.”
