Football finance expert Kieran Maguire has had his say on the rumoured sale of Reading's state-of-the-art training complex, Bearwood Park, believing it to make the acquisition of the club 'less attractive.'
An award-winning author and host of the Price of Football podcast, the Liverpool University lecturer is the go-to guy for all things football finance.
News broke on Wednesday evening that League One rivals Wycombe Wanderers are set to purchase the £50m development for half the price.
If the rumoured £22m price paid by Wycombe for the Reading training ground is correct it will head off short terms insolvency concerns assuming that Dai Yongge does not pocket it himself by repaying loans due to him. Makes the club less attractive to bidders though

Causing outrage on social media, both clubs are yet to confirm this officially.
Taking to social media to give his verdict, Maguire said: "If the rumoured £22m price paid by Wycombe for the Reading training ground is correct it will head off short terms insolvency concerns assuming that Dai Yongge does not pocket it himself by repaying loans due to him. Makes the club less attractive to bidders though."
The club have raised concerns of a financial shortfall this month, with £1m needed to prevent a fresh points deduction as Ruben Selles' team fight to remain in the third tier.
