LIAM Moore has put this summer's transfer fiasco behind him by signing a new, five-year deal with Reading FC.
Royals' centre-back put in a transfer request in July following a £10m bid from Brighton.
But the 25-year-old centre-back changed his mind following talks with Reading's Chinese owners and has now committed his future to the club.
Royals boss Paul Clement said: “Over the summer there was a lot of speculation and uncertainty surrounding his future at the club and we are all delighted that he has agreed this new deal.
"Liam is an integral part of moving this club forward and I’m looking forward to us working together to achieve our objective.”
Moore was kept out of the spotlight at the beginning of the season when speculation of a £10m-plus move to Premier League Brighton was rife.
He then requested a transfer which was rejected by Reading.
But talks with the club's owners Dai Yongge and Dai Xiu Li persuaded the ex-Leicestere City defender to change his mind a sign a bumper, new conract.
He also returned to the team as captain for the 1-1 draw at Aston Villa last weekend.
Royals chief executive Ron Gourlay said: “Securing the long-term services of our key first team players has always been a priority for our owners and we have made a clear statement that this club’s intentions are not to sell our best players.
"Ever since arriving at Reading Football Club, Liam has proven himself to be one of the best, playing a prominent part in our first team achievements.
"This contract means he will now have an important role to play as part of this club’s aspirations for the future.”
Technical Director Brian Tevreden said: “Liam is a natural leader with a winning mentality whose commitment to the cause is evident in every tackle he makes and every header he wins.
"He is an integral part of this team."
