Reading FC: Supporters react to latest defeat that leaves winless Royals bottom of the table

Saturday’s reverse at Madejski Stadium leaves Royals bottom of the Championship table and without a win this season.

Some fans are even suggesting it is time for Paul Clement to go after Reading’s fourth defeat in six league games going into the international break.

Overall, Saturday showed that #ReadingFC lack a lot of talent in the ‘traditionally’ creative areas of a 4-4-2 formation. If @PaulClement1972 can’t get these traditional methods working with 4-4-2, it shouldn’t be persisted with, and we should look to create through the middle.

However, others believe the former Swansea and Derby County manager deserves more time to turns results around.

@PaulClement1972 deserves a bit more time I agree but you can't slander Stam when we were in the playoff final everyone was behind him.. sick of fans that always blame the manager.. the players have soo much to answer for and at present they are a disgrace. @ReadingFC #readingfc

Reading have won only three times in their last 27 Championship games during 2018 under both Clement and former boss Jaap Stam.

They fell behind on Saturday to an early Adam Reach goal before Lucas Joao made it 2-0 just 14 seconds after the break.

The under-pressure boss later argued his players went into ‘panic mode’ during the second half and that Royals are often ‘our own worst enemy.’

Clement will be looking to iron out the mistakes with his squad during the two-week international break before returning with a trip to Preston on Saturday, September 15.
