MARLOW United climbed up to second in the Premier Division table after a rain-affected weekend.
They romped to a 6-2 victory at Wraysbury Village to move within a point of leaders Cookham Dean – whose clash at Reading City Under 23s was called off due to the weather – with two games in hand.
Chris Hurst was the star of the show for Marlow with a hat-trick, having put his side up from the penalty spot before scoring twice in the second half.
Further goals from Liam Bushay, Joshua Fox and Felix Prudden sealed the victory for the visitors.
Berks County were leading Woodcote Stoke Row 1-0 when their match was abandoned.
The home side took the lead with a stunning goal on 35 minutes, but Woodcote were unlucky not to level when Ed Gadd’s goal-bound effort from Ryan Corbett’s cross was superbly saved.
As the rain fell more heavily, Berks County were awarded a penalty, only for the referee to step in and abandon the game.
Fourth-placed Mortimer FC were 7-1 up at home to basement boys Woodley United Royals when their one-sided match was abandoned due to an unplayable pitch after 80 minutes.
A Steffan Allen hat-trick, a James Croft brace, a Paul Massaquoi strike and an own goal had put Mortimer on the road to victory when the officials called the game off 10 minutes from time. Mortimer are confident the result will stand.
Wokingham & Emmbrook Reserves suffered their 10th defeat of the season after a 4-1 loss at Richings Park, while the game between Westwood United and Wrightchoice & Unity CSA was abandoned.
Mitchell Burley scored twice as Maidenhead Town rose to second in the Division One table with a 4-1 victory at Hurst. Duarte Surpanu and Jake Wheeler were also on target, while Robert Stagg replied for Hurst.
Table-toppers Newbury FC were leading FC Imaan Lions 2-0 when the game was abandoned in the second half. Luke Gray and Russell Benham scored for the hosts after Josh Johnson had received a straight red for the visitors six minutes before the break.
Mortimer Reserves remain top of Division Two thanks to a 4-3 win at Hurst Reserves. Andrew Johnstone-Archer grabbed a brace with a Kane Brewster strike and own goal sealing the victory.
Second-placed Woodcote Stoke Row Reserves saw their home match with Marlow Reserves called off.
Third-placed Wargrave were 5-0 up on AFC Corinthians when the game was abandoned. Stuart Moss had notched a hat-trick while Greg Smith and Joe Wigmore had also scored before the pitch became unplayable.
Division Three leaders Berks County Reserves lost 2-1 at home to second-placed Woodley United A in a top-of-the-table clash.
Timothy Green put Woodley in front only for Robert Keely to equalise. However, Green netted again nine minutes from time to clinch all three points for the visitors, who moved to within four points of Berks County.
Division Four leaders Berks County Rovers powered their way to a 6-2 home win against bottom club Taplow United Reserves for whom Harry Bennett scored twice.
Goals from Admir Salihovic and Thomas Hanks helped third-placed Farnham Royal Mavericks to a 2-0 victory against AFC Corinthians A.
Ben Ashfield grabbed the only goal as Westwood United Development edged out hosts Henley Town Development, while Phoenix Old Boys Reserves defeated Harchester Hawks Development 2-1 at home.
Cup competitions:
In trophy competitions, Eldon Celtic powered into the next round of the Reading Invitation Junior Cup with a 6-1 victory at Goring United, for whom Martin Thomas scored a consolation.
A Bradley Stevens goal was not enough for Reading YMCA Rapids as they lost 2-1 at home to Cookham Dean Reserves in the Berkshire Trophy Centre Intermediate Cup.
Phoenix Old Boys also booked their place in the next round with a 5-2 home win against Richings Park Reserves.
Nathan Harrowell and Edward Smith found the net for Maidenhead Town Reserves in a 2-1 home win over Hambledon in the Berks & Bucks Junior Cup.
Datchet Village defeated Pangbourne 5-3 in a penalty shoot-out after the tie had ended 0-0 after extra time.
The tie between Cintra Park Rovers and Milton United Reserves was abandoned.
Meanwhile, the only fixture this Saturday will see AFC Aldermaston host Cookham Dean in the Reading Invitation Senior Cup.
All other Thames Valley League teams now head into a winter break before fixtures recommence on Saturday, January 5.
