LIGHTNING struck twice for two Wokefield Park Golf Club members recently when both hit holes-in-one during the same round.

Jamie McIntyre and Wokefield clubmate Phil Edwards were playing together in a fourball at Oxford Golf Club.

There were celebrations when McIntyre recorded a superb ace at the 196-yard 12th hole – the toughest par three on the course.

And amazement followed when Edwards followed suit when his tee shot on the 201-yard 15th hole also found the cup to seal a memorable day.

It is believed the odds on the Wokefield duo both hitting holes-in-one on the same round are more than 1,000,000-1.

Meanwhile, Dame Laura Davies is due to launch the new Wokefield Park Golf Academy this Friday.

The Academy boasts a covered and floodlit driving range with high quality coaching provided for youngsters.

Davies – with 85 professional wins and four Major titles to her name – will be attending the grand opening between 3pm-6pm.

There will be complimentary drinks and a hog roast along with competitions and prizes, with free entry and parking.
