Liverpool midfielder Ovie Ejaria looks likely to re-join Reading for the coming season following a successful spell at the Madejski Stadium last season.
He made 16 appearances in RG2, scoring a vital goal against Rotherham United and providing two assists in the battle for survival in the second tier.
The 21-year-old joined the Royals in January; and became a vital component of the side that survived in the Championship under Jose Gomes.
The England youth international had previously been on loan at Rangers in the Scottish Premiership for the first half of the season; but linked up with the Berkshire side in time for their first win under Gomes, a 2-0 home win over Nottingham Forest.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is not interested in keeping the midfielder at Anfield next season; and Reading is the preferred destination.
Reading are currently under a self-imposed transfer embargo until they sort their finances out, but if Ejaria was to sign it would be a very positive addition to the side.
Several Championship clubs have shown an interest in Ejaria but the latest news this morning is that the move to Reading is inching closer.
