KEITH Sutton won Goring & Streatley's monthly weekend stableford with a fantastic score of 40 points resulting in a handicap reduction to 10.
He mastered the blustery conditions and difficult pin positions well to finish two points ahead of Mark Vickers with Martyn Pyke third on 37 points.
Club professionals Matt Woods and Ben O’Dell conducted two taster sessions for 20 people last week.
The groups were both mixed in ability with some looking to take up the game for the first time and others looking to rekindle their love for the sport.
Fortunately, the weather held and everyone could hit some balls on the driving range and receive a free lesson.

Head professional Woods is hosting a Pro’s day and night event on Saturday, August 3. It is open to members and visitors and promises to be a great day with some excellent prizes on offer.

DANIEL Bowsher won the not-aptly named Summer Competition at West Berks last weekend when he overcame a strong wind throughout and occasional rain showers to return a splendid 42 points.
Andrew Greaves took second place with 38 points by beating Mark Ramos on countback.
Gale McAuley and Pat Treacy returned 38 points to win the club's qualifying round of the national PING women’s fourball better-ball competition. Jane Brackenbury and Renee Wheeler were second on 36, followed by Tina Mulford and Sian Soanes with 35.
Andy Robbings won the seniors’ midweek medal with gross 78, nett 70.
He finished five shots clear of Graham Short who returned gross 85, nett 75, while George Jameson was third with gross 93, nett 76.
Greaves won the men’s midweek stableford with 39 points, followed by Darren Boulton (34) and Greg Collins (28).
Robin Land won the nine-hole Wednesday Liddiard qualifier with 21 points. Second place went to Chris Terrett with 20 points, beating Stuart King on countback.
In team events, West Berks seniors drew 3-3 at home to North Wilts, while the veterans lost 5½-½ at Bicester in a match played in driving wind and rain.
