Reading are expected to offer free agent Gary Hooper a contract in a bid to ease their lack of striking options, according to reports.
Acura Sports News have tweeted that former Sheffield Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal has been in contact with Royals boss Jose Gomes and recommended to his fellow Portuguese to sign the former Celtic man.
Hooper, 31, has 226 goals in 550 career games and could be a good signing following his release from Sheffield Wednesday, having scored 31 goals in 88 games for the Owls.
