Reading boss Jose Gomes believes it is a good sign that he and his players are frustrated after their agonising 1-1 draw with promotion favourites West Brom at The Hawthorns.
Ovie Ejaria opened the scoring with a magnificent goal, rifling home from 25 yards to give Baggies keeper Sam Johnstone no chance.
However, Ejaria gave away the penalty which led to West Brom's equaliser with three minutes to go, tripping Filip Krovinovic in the box allowing Kenneth Zohore to slam home from the spot.
Following up their Cardiff display with another of a similar ilk was impressive but Gomes admitted that there was a slight frustration at not taking all three.
He said: "It is a very good sign that we feel frustrated and disappointed to get just one point.
"It means that we could win and we were very near to winning.
"In some moments of the game they were better than us and they controlled the ball and they have very good players.
"They can create a lot of danger in our box but we didn't allow them to find a way to our goal.
"We defended really well. I am very happy with my players and they showed brave spirit to fight and they were brave.
"We must keep the ball more times to create more finishing situations but I think West Brom are very difficult to beat. They are very good."
Gomes praised Ejaria for his goal and all-round play in the game and also believed that he thought the on-loan Liverpool midfielder got a touch on the ball before the penalty.
He added: "He showed last season that he has a great talent.
"He can improve his performance and some details of his game. During the week, I spoke with him. If he plays like he is playing, his level will improve. His goal was great.
"I thought he got a touch on the ball when the penalty was given but that's football."
Reading were once again resolute at the back with Liam Moore and Michael Morrison, in particular, outstanding.
Gomes said: "Moore, Morrison and Miazga were brave. We must be strong in our defensive organisation and they were all really brave."
