GALE and Tom McAuley won the Husbands and Wives/Partners Trophy, scoring 41 points in the greensomes competition at West Berks.
Aileen Summers and Barry Francis with 36 points beat Lyn and Tony Pell on countback to decide second and third places.
Lloyd Ponsford won the Crawford Cup, a blue tee medal competition open to all players who have played to competition standard scratch or better throughout the year.
The 21-handicapper shot 90 to yield a nett score of 69.
Greg Collins was second with a gross 78, nett 71 and Robert Camden was third shooting an 82 for a nett score of 73.
The second year of the JHB Trophy, played to recognise the outstanding contribution that John Bennett has made to the club, was played last week.
Open to ladies and men, the competition is run all week on a ‘play when you like’ basis with a choice of tees for men, with those off white tees adding two shots to their score.
John Harris won scoring 40 points and beating Mustapha Mzouri on countback.
Third place was also decided on countback, with Paul Barton on 39 points winning from Dan Bowsher and Patrick Wilmore.
West Berks seniors bounced back after ending their 10-match unbeaten run with a 6-0 defeat at Sand Martins by winning their next match at home to Witney Lakes by the same score.
Meanwhile, the club Saturday team took a season-long, unbeaten 11-match record to Goring and Streatley and lost 4½-½.
