German giants Bayern Munich have expressed an interest in Reading FC full-back Omar Richards, according to reports in the Daily Telegraph.
The 22-year-old left-back has been in scintillating form for Veljko Paunovic's side this season and has attracted interest from Premier League clubs Crystal Palace, Brighton and West Ham United.
Paunovic has previously expressed his desire to tie Richards down on a long-term deal, with his current contract set to expire at the end of the 2020-21 season.
The January transfer window is the last opportunity for Reading to sell Richards for a fee, should the youngster turn down a new deal.
The Telegraph has reported that the Bavarian club is set to open pre-contract deal negotiations with Richards.
This would mean that he Richards would leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the season, but remain at the club for the rest of the campaign.
Fellow youngster Michael Olise is also entering the final months of his current deal.
It is understood that contract talks with Olise remain ongoing at this point, as the club attempts to stave off interest from Leeds United and Crystal Palace.
