Sources close to Omar Richards have refuted claims that the player is close to signing a new deal at the club.
Previously, manager Veljko Paunovic has stated that the club has been working towards a new deal for both Richards and Michael Olise, alongside Tom McIntyre - who is also out of contract at the end of the campaign.
The manager has expressed his desire in previous weeks to tie down the players as part of a long-term vision at the club.
It had been understood that talks were in a good state with Richards in recent days.
However, a source has told the Reading Chronicle talks have not yet led to a concrete offer being presented to Richards or McIntyre.
This transfer window presents the last opportunity for Reading to receive a fee for any players who are out of contract in the Summer.
