Liam Moore has deactivated his Twitter account following racist abuse on the social media website.
The Royals captain shared a screenshot of the original post, which included an abhorrent slur against him before calling on the social media platform to do more to stop the abuse.
In a follow-up tweet, Moore wrote: "I have enjoyed engaging with many of you over the years on here but tonight was just another example of Twitter being toxic!"
The official Reading FC account released a statement earlier this morning, writing: "All at <insert club> condemn the vile, abhorrent, cowardly and plain racist abuse of <insert player> on <insert social media platform> during last night’s game.
"It’s all too familiar, isn't it? But we cannot let it become acceptable.
"We are disgusted.
"Enough. Is. Enough."

Support for the captain flooded in on social media from Reading fans and supporters of clubs across the country.
This follows a decision taken earlier this week by Swansea City to not post any content on social media for a week to take a stance in the battle against online discrimination.
