Former Reading striker Leroy Lita has signed for Midlands outfit Ilkeston Town until the end of the season.
A player-manager for struggling Hednesford Town in Southern Premier Central, the 38-year-old scored 21 goals in 27 matches for the team sat second bottom.
Ilkeston sit four points outside the play-offs in the same division.
Reading's first £1m player, Lita was an integral part of the club's record-breaking promotion campaign in 2005/06 and subsequent eighth-placed Premier League campaign.
Leaving with 32 goals in 100 appearances in 2009, he went on to enjoy success with the likes of Swansea City and Middlesbrough before dropping into non-league with Margate in 2018.
He was most recently seen at the SCL Stadium in May 2022, appearing in the 150th anniversary legends match and scoring a stylish goal.
Speaking on the move, Ilkeston chairman, David Hilton, said: "“Leroy is obviously well experienced and we feel he offers another great option for us. Considering he’s played in a side struggling all season with goalscoring opportunities limited, he is still high in the scoring charts. I’m excited to see his return for us knowing we have such great creativity."
