Reading castaway Marc McNulty has moved to America and joined Orange County SC.
The 30-year-old Scotland striker joined the Royals in 2018 but scored just once in 13 league appearances, being farmed out on loan five times in the process.
Formerly on Coventry City and Sheffield United, the striker was said to be 'delighted' that his contract came to an end, stating that he would 'be more happy to be unemployed than go through that s**** again.'
He will be linking up with the USL side managed by former thorn in Reading sides Richard Chaplow.
Sporting director Peter Nugent said: "Marc is a prolific striker and a player we expect to play an important role within the team.
"He has the potential to be one of the leading scorers in the league. We look forward to welcoming him to Orange County."
With 28 goals in one season for the Sky Blues ahead of joining the Royals, McNulty has proved he can find the net, but just 25 goals in the five years since suggests that his best days could be behind him.
