It has been confirmed that Darren England will be the man in the middle for Reading's big trip to Old Trafford on Saturday.
The 37-year-old has been refereed the Royals once already this season, the 2-1 win over Cardiff City in the first home match of the season, while the club have lost just one of the seven matches England has refereed since 2017.
The Yorkshireman has also taken charge of one United match, their third round win over Everton in the FA Cup.
The ever-controversial VAR will be in use for the match, Reading's first time using it since the last trip to the Theatre of Dreams in 2019.
During the 2-0 win, Fred's goal was ruled out for offside, only for the referee to pull play back and award a penalty for a foul in the build-up.
Vastly experienced Lee Mason will be in charge of the Video Assistant Referee.
The 51-year-old retired from refereeing in 2021, but can operate VAR.
