Former Reading defender, Michael Hector, has joined Charlton Athletic.
The 30-year-old rose through the Royals academy and played over 50 times before joining Chelsea in 2015.
After spells with Fulham, Hull City and Sheffield Wednesday, the centre-back had been without a club.
He spent a time on trial in Berkshire hoping for a return to the Royals, but a move could not be sorted.
Most recently enjoying another trial with a former club, this time the Owls in League One, it was reported that a deal could not be agreed before moving on to the Addicks.
Signing until the end of the season, it gives both parties a chance to assess the move in the summer, with Hector plagued by injuries in recent years.
"It feels great to be a Charlton player," said Hector. "The boys seem like a good bunch and I’ve settled in nicely.
"I’ve always enjoyed playing at The Valley. Every time I’ve played at The Valley it has been at night and it feels like a European night. It’s always a decent atmosphere, obviously being a home player it will be a different experience and it's one I'm really looking forward to."
