Reading legend Mick Gooding believed Chelsea youngster Cesare Casadei played 'okay' on his Royals debut against Watford.
The 20-year-old started in the 2-2 draw with the Hornets, substituted before the team completed a comeback from two goals down.
On loan from the two-time Champions League winners, the Italy Under-21 international left the former Reading manager wanting more.
"He was okay at best," Gooding said on BBC Radio Berkshire. "I’m sure if you asked him he would be a little bit disappointed. If you’re making your debut for a team, you want to affect the game. The game passed him by. I’m sure he’s a lot better than we saw today, and I’m sure we’ll see lots of him between now and the end of the season."
Former England captain, and one of the best midfielder's the country has produced- Reading manager Paul Ince- was more complimentary of his new talent.
"I thought he was good. He’s got lots of energy, as you would expect for a 20-year-old kid. The Championship is tough, it’s not like being at Chelsea playing with the Under-21s. That’s why he is here, to learn and develop. I was very pleased with what he achieved in such a small amount of time."
The former Inter Milan youth star has potentially 17 more appearances for the club before the end of the season.
